What is the Safir Program
ACIE at USEK was Safir’s local incubator in Lebanon for three key activities. We supported young project leaders, fostered the creation of an innovation space at the Lebanese University (LU), and developed a regional guide on social entrepreneurship.

Success Stories
6 youth-led start-up projects were selected by the Safir Funding Committee after completing the 2-month incubation program. These startups benefited from a grant of up to 25 000 Euro each and a 6-month acceleration program.
AYKI founded by Ara Abadjian:
AYKI (Agricultural Youth Knowledge Institute) refers to a learning and innovation center inside a 12,000 sqm farm with black clay volcanic soil, capable of growing thousands of types of trees, bushes, herbs, and vegetables.
Green Vibes founded by Hala Sharfo [logo]
Seeking to spread its green vibes to rural areas and empower Lebanese women, the initiative promotes their production of reusable, fashionable, and sustainable bags.
Pawfuel founded by Herbert Pritzki [logo]
Pawfuel’s concept consists of transforming food waste into affordable high-quality dog kibbles using bioconversion using Black Soldiers Fly. It can provide affordable products that contain rare and crucial nutrients for pets.
Telten el Bled founded by Roy El Daher and Mazen Rizk [logo]
Telten El Bled refers to 5 villages in the region of Jbeil where tangible and intangible heritage will be conserved through creating an eco-museum with a unique and modern identity that connects traditionalism and modernism.
Tour-us (50 to happy) founded by Maya Mahfouz, Yara Mahfouz and Christina Karam [logo]
Tour-us’s concept consists of improving the well-being of women aged around 50 and above by organizing touristic field trips in different Lebanese villages and rural areas.
UWYTA founded by Margot Wehbe [logo]
UWYTA (Upcycle What You Throw Away) aims to help vulnerable women and fight for the environment, by upcycling non-recyclable chips and chocolate wraps into affordable aprons, tote bags and pouches.
